Belgian Malinois as a perfect police dog

Belgian Malinois was originally bred as one of the varieties of Shepherd dogs, that’s why his background is watching or herding sheep. In general, Malinois may do different jobs. For example, he is a perfect guard or protection dog for a family. However, Belgian Malinois is more often used as a police dog. Why Belgian Malinois is a great police dog? Police dog should have excellent nose and a keen intellect, because police often search for drugs, bombs and guns. Moreover, police dog should be loyal and willing to protect his owner no matter what. Belgian Malinois has all the aforementioned features and he is also alert to the surroundings. That’s why Belgian Malinois is a terrific police dog.  Belgian Malinois is often used by police officers, who work in airports, train and subway stations, because he has perfect scent. Successful Rescue Story: Yana Malinois

Yana and her brother were close to death when ABMC rescued them in February 2009. They had been tied in a pole barn, along with several other dogs, for over two months in freezing weather. At nine months old, they weighed 39 and 36 pounds—just bones covered with flesh. Somehow they had managed to survive on very little food or water and with no human contact except for hands that threw in a bag of dog food or perhaps wielded a weapon. When I saw Yana's picture I cried. Her eyes were sad and sick; her muzzle was covered with bite marks—apparently food was a commodity that had to be fought for. I knew I wanted her. I needed to help her learn Love, Trust, and Self-Confidence.
